Rating Chicken Burgers/Sandwiches – Jagger’s Fried Chicken Burger

Driven by a sudden but powerful urge for buttermilk brined, breaded and fried poultry I jumped in my car and went to pick up an order at one of Copenhagen’s leading fast casual burger mini-chains; Jagger.

Jagger have more than a handfull locations now spread all over Copenhagen and besides the Chicken Burger I craved they also have regular burgers, awesome sides and shakes on the menu. But I wanted to see if the chicken really had moves like Jagger.

Naturally in these Corona times Jagger’s open for take away only.

Here’s my rating:  (if you’re not sure how the rating works, and what the idea behind it is ..)

Meat (1 – 5)

Fried Chicken Burger:

Meat (4) – This was crunchy and juicy like I like a piece of fried chicken breast to be. The breading was well spiced and soft yet flaky. Could it be better? Yes – but a damn good piece of fried chicken.

Bun (4) – The bun just barely sneaks up from a 3 to a 4. The reason is that the bun, all though nothing spectacular, fit the fried chicken really well. A solid brioche bun.

Fillings (2) – This was where the sandwich disapointed a bit. It came with lettuce, pickles, chipotle mayo and regular mayo. The pickles in my opinion are a must and they were thick and the best of the fillings. The lettuce was quite boring and there was very little of the two mayos. The chipotle of course the dominant flavour. I feel a special sauce, not just mayo, would have helped a lot and taken the sandwich up a notch or two.

Presentation/Experience (4) – The sandwich held up really good. Even after the short drive home. The chicken was hot and fresh. The few ingredients probably helped the burger from falling apart which was a bonus. Fair price too, especially if you get it as a meal with fries and a soda.

Overall: 14 out of 20 (rating score: Great)

+  Great fried chicken, juicy and fresh. Solid Bun

–   Boring fillings. Could have been excellent with more sauce than just mayo.

Would I buy again?

Yes.

Would I go to Jagger again?

Absolutely Yes – I still haven’t tried their shakes
